Portfolio Description

DeyChop is a comprehensive food delivery solution that connects customers, food vendors, and riders through a seamless app experience. The platform consists of three apps: a User App for customers, a Vendor App for eateries and food vendors, and a Rider App for delivery agents. DeyChop lets customers browse menus, place orders, and choose between delivery or pickup. Vendors receive orders, prepare meals, and coordinate with riders to ensure fast, reliable delivery. A live tracking and status update feature informs users about their orders in real-time, from preparation to delivery.

The Challenge

Redesigning DeyChop comes with several challenges, including user resistance to change, as existing users may struggle to adapt to a new interface. Balancing simplicity with functionality is crucial to avoid overwhelming users with excessive features. Technical limitations, such as legacy code and performance optimization, can slow down implementation, while maintaining consistency across the User App, Vendor App, and Rider App requires a unified design system. Vendors and riders may also resist changes that disrupt their workflow, necessitating proper onboarding and training. Additionally, ensuring secure data migration is critical to prevent breaches or data loss. Budget and time constraints can further complicate the process, making an agile development approach essential for phased implementation and continuous improvement.

Unique Experience

Redesigning DeyChop would be an exciting but challenging journey, filled with both creative breakthroughs and unexpected roadblocks. One major hurdle would be ensuring users don’t feel lost, I can already imagine longtime customers opening the app, seeing a brand-new interface, and wondering where their favorite features went. Striking the right balance between fresh design and familiar usability would be key.  I’d also have to think about the vendors and delivery agents, they’re busy people, and any redesign that disrupts their workflow could lead to frustration or even app abandonment. Communication would be critical here, making sure they’re involved in the process rather than just handed a finished product. Security is another thing that would keep me on my toes migrating user data safely without glitches or breaches would be non-negotiable. And of course, the reality of deadlines and budgets would always be lurking in the background, reminding me that every decision has a trade-off. Despite all this, I know the thrill of seeing the redesigned app live, with smoother navigation, faster performance, and happy users, would make it all worth it.

The redesign of DeyChop must cater to three key audiences—customers, food vendors, and riders each with distinct needs. Customers expect a fast, intuitive experience with easy menu navigation, seamless checkout, secure payment options, and real-time tracking to monitor their orders. Vendors require a more efficient dashboard to manage incoming orders, track sales, and coordinate deliveries without delays or confusion. For riders, the focus should be on optimized route navigation, real-time order updates, and earnings tracking, ensuring they can complete deliveries quickly and efficiently while maximizing their income. The challenge lies in balancing these needs within a unified yet specialized design, ensuring a seamless interaction between all three apps for a smooth, reliable food delivery experience.
